Cherries are one of my all time favorite foods and I buy tons of them when they’re in season. I’ve loved them since I was a kid. They’re deliciously sweet and so good for you. Cherries control inflammation (a root cause of many diseases), protect your heart and even help you sleep better. Crazy, right?

When I can’t get my hands on fresh cherries, then I go for the frozen ones. Frozen cherries are easier to eat because they’re already pitted – no seeds to spit out!

I use frozen cherries to make my absolute favorite smoothie ever. It’s healthy and it tastes like dessert, so I have to share it with you.

Cherry Chia Smoothie                                                                                                                                                                         

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 banana
  • 1 heaping tablespoon of almond butter
  • 1-2 tablespoons chia seeds (excellent detoxifiers)
  • 1 heaping cup of frozen cherries

Add all ingredients to the blender in the order listed and blend until smooth. Drink up and enjoy! It’s way better than a milkshake.
